Music
After you have signed up, you'll get access to the rehearsal materials (sheet music and rehearsal tracks). You will need to use these to learn the music (roughly) in advance. On the day, there will be an expectation that people have a reasonable idea of their part when they arrive - we'll start off with a quick sing through, and then work on sections of each song to bring out the best in them.
All the songs have been arranged by Timothy Allen. They are written with amateur voices in mind, but they are reasonably complex. The "Les Mis" medley includes a number of songs not often performed outside the show - "The Death of Valjean", for instance, alongside big favourites such as "I dreamed a dream", "Bring him home", and of course, both "One day more" and "Do you hear the people sing?". The medley lasts for about quarter of an hour!
Cost
The fee for the Singing Day is £30. This must be paid in advance, either by card (via this website), or by sending a cheque by the end of July. Anyone booking a place but not making payment by the end of July is likely to lose their place.
Tickets
Soprano 1
For Soprano 1s only - range Bb below middle C to Ab nearly two octaves higher. (There's just one top Ab, and a couple of top Gs - mostly the top notes are Fs).

For Soprano 2s only. Most of the time, all the sopranos sing the same as each other, but the Soprano 2s get the occasional different line - and nothing above an F at the top!

For Alto 1s only. Most of the time, all the altos sing the same as each other, but there are some sections where they split. The difference in range is minimal - go with what you're used to, and if you're not used to altos splitting into two parts, just pick one or the other - it won't matter too much.
