You're the voice
Combining a potent lyric with an anthemic sing-along rock chorus, this song is a real crowd-pleaser. The big “woah” moments in the chorus are huge fun, but there is also a serious side to the song – really digging into the lyrics in the verses lets you explore some big themes (“How long can we look at each other down the barrel of a gun?”, and “We know we all can stand together, with the power to be powerful, believing we can make it better”). It’s also one of the few rock songs to boast a bagpipe solo!
For the repeated chorus at the end, it’s really effective to cut the accompaniment for the first repeat, giving the choir the chance to shine with some a capella singing whilst encouraging the audience to clap along.
