When I fall in love
SATB
There’s plenty of scope for freedom of tempo in this arrangement, so give it space and let it breathe. The second half has a brief feature for your accompanist, where they can take the lead and have the choir singing echoes – encourage them to enjoy this role reversal! There are some sumptuous harmonies here, but they’re all approached fairly straightforwardly, so this is well within the reach of an amateur choir. The range is a little low for the sopranos (occasional short low Abs), and a little high for the basses (occasional short high Dbs), but that’s what creates that glorious close-harmony feel.
