Skye boat song

Telling the tale of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s escape to the Isle of Skye after the Battle of Culloden, this well-known Scottish song is a lovely addition to any programme. There are moments of drama, with thunderclaps and swelling waves, but also moments of peace and tranquillity, especially as everything winds down towards the end. The final long held chords fade away into the Scottish mist, and calm is restored.
