About the Event

This is one of our two "headline" workshops this autumn. We're absolutely thrilled to have secured a night with an incredible couple - Alexander and Joanna L'Estrange. Alexander's career includes composing for top-end vocal groups such as Tenebrae and arranging for The King's Singers, whilst his wife Joanna was musical director of The Swingle Singers and has well over 200 recording credits to her name (including singing on the soundtrack to major films such as Star Wars, The Hobbit, The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Life of Pi, Shrek - the list goes on!). Their workshop is designed to help us get into the groove of the funky modern rhythms that permeate swing, pop and rock music, and it will include them teaching us a movement from Alexander's acclaimed swing cantata, "Freedom! The Power of Song". (The sheet music for this will be available to download in advance, and is included in the price).
